Editorial Standards

These standards guide the preparation of articles for Trendify Magazines. Demonstration posts are labelled [Demo] and should not be treated as reported editorial content.

Original writing and useful information

Articles should offer original writing and a clear purpose for the reader. Copying another publisher’s article or changing a few words does not meet this standard.

Accuracy and sources

Writers should check names, dates and other important claims against reliable sources. Unconfirmed personal details should be identified as unconfirmed or omitted. Opinions and observations should be distinguished from established facts.

Respect for privacy

Public interest does not justify inventing private information. A person’s relationships, family, health, finances or background should not be described as fact without supporting evidence.

Images and credits

Photographs must be owned, licensed or used with permission. Illustrative stock photographs should not be presented as photographs of a named person or a reported event. The current demo posts include stock-photo credits.

Corrections and updates

When a substantive error is identified, the article should be corrected and the change explained where appropriate. Updates should reflect changes to the information, rather than changing dates merely to make a story appear new.

Commercial content

Sponsored articles and paid placements should be clearly labelled. Commercial relationships should not be concealed from readers.
